Derby of Fontainebleau
 2010-04-17

They were 20 to challenge the perilous round of the Derby of Fontainebleau. For this 2nd edition, the couples had to overcome 20 fences including a river, a low-cons, and, the most difficult one, a ford, which often sparked some difficulties for the riders to enter the water! Like last year, this spectacular class came down to a match between France and Ireland. But unlike the Six Nations Tournament this year, the issue turned in favor of the riders in green jacket. For a long moment, Roisy Kenny has been the only rider to having done one fault. But eventually, the head of the ranking felt to his fellow countryman Tim Macdonagh. Indeed, he was the first to make a clear course and so that took a nice option over the final victory. Despite a great attempt from Sidonie Vivet (the winner of the Victoria Hotel Prize on Friday) who were also clear but unfortunately a little bit too low, France had to settle with the 2nd place. Tim Mc Donagh – Kate Mc Donagh's brother, the winner of the Grand Prix in 2009 – brought a wonderful 6th victory to the Irish camp.
